William Boyd
1895-1972
William F. Boyd was born in Henrysburg on the onld National Road (U.S. Route 40) on June 5, 1895. His family moved to Tulsa Oklahoma and later to California. He found work in the movie business, first in silent films and later in talkies. He is best known for his portrayal of cowboy Hopalong Cassidy. Between 1935 and 1948, Boyd made 66 films in that role.
William Boyd died on September 12, 1972, in Laguna Beach, California.
