Whitehall, OH 43213The deer statues out front may have looked innocent, but this motel had one of the most tarnished reputations in central Ohio. In its final years, no one ever went to the Bambi for anything legal... (Rumor had it that many of the rooms were wired by the Columbus Police Department for surveillance!)
The city of Whitehall wanted to shut down this eyesore and it cited the motel's owners for numerous building and fire code violations. The motel lost almost all of its legal challenges and the motel was eventually razed. For a long time the deer statues remained in front of the piles of rubble.
Today, the old motel is an empty lot.
