Cross-Country Route 40 Bike Trip - Day 9: Grantsville to Heber City, Utah

Distance: 89.5 miles
Description: The day's riding starts out pretty easy - 44 miles across the near perfectly terrain south of the Great Salt Lake. You'll spend the next 20 miles making a 2,700 foot ascent up the Wasatch Mountains. There are two major detours on this day. The first is to get around the Salt Lake City Airport and the second is to avoid I-80 in Parley's Canyon. The latter is very scenic and historic. There is some trail riding in the Wasatch.
