John Kennedy Lacock Braddock Road Postcard No. 41: Dunbar's Knob, Jumonville, Pa.1908Jumonville, PACaption: Dunbar's regiment formed their forward and final encampment on a flat piece of ground in close proximity to a fine spring near the reservoir of the Soldiers' and Orphans School, and within a few hundred yards of the spot where Washington the year before had defeated the French forces under Jumonville. On June 27 Braddock marched rom Fort Rock (See No. 38) to Gist's Plantation, passing nearby the scene of Jumonville's defeat and to the east of Dunbar's Knob.
