Boonsboro TurnpikeMDThe Boonsboro Turnpike began in 1822 and established a link between Boonsboro, Funkstown and Hagerstown. The road was financed by banks in Hagerstown and Boonsboro and provided the final link between Baltimore and Cumberland. Today the road is designated as Alternate Route 40.
