This photograph shows the point at which Braddock's Road, coming coming off the high ground from Stewartsville, intersects with the White Oak Level Road, about one-half mile east of the boundary between Westmorland and Allegheny counties. The route from Stewartsville to this point was well chosen. It seems that the road did not follow the valleys one either side of this higher ground, as some are disposed to claim. (See No. 55)
