John Kennedy Lacock Braddock Road Postcard No. 49: Union Springs, Mount Pleasant, Pa.1908Mount Pleasant, PACaption: The Braddock or Union Springs are situated in Mount Pleasant on the property of Mrs. Elizabeth Shield Hitchman, a short distance from the corner of Spring and Eagle streets. Two magnificent streams of water gush forth near an old spring house. That either of the advanced or rear guard of Braddock's army may have bivouaced at or near the springs seems not wholly unlikely. So string a supply of most delicious spring water could not but attract the attention of moving squadrons. Previous Braddock Road Postcard | Next Braddock Road Postcard | Lacock Index
