Archer Butler Hulbert1873–1933Archer Butler Hulbert was born January 26, 1873, in Bennington, Vermont. He was graduated from Marietta College in 1895 and also studied at Western Reserve, University of Chicago, University of Wisconsin, Columbia University and Harvard. For a while he lived in Zanesville, Ohio. There, he began studying and writing about historic thoroughfares including Braddock's Road, Washington's Road and the National Road. In 1920, he took a teaching job at Colorado College in Colorado Springs and had a teaching career at that school. Archer Butler Hulbert died on December 24, 1933, in Colorado Springs and is buried in that city. For more information:
