George Stewart U.S. 40 Photograph - FirstviewU.S. Route 40Firstview, CO 80810 There's not much to see in this tiny Colorado town other than a few mail boxes and a handful of weather beaten houses. Supposedly the first place you can see the Rocky Mountains when traveling from the east. On my visits it has been too hazy to see anything in the distance. I suppose on a clear day one might be able to see the mountains. This view is to the east. Here's an interesting bit of trivia. Firstview is one of only three places in the United States with land masses directly on the opposite side of the Earth. In this case, Firstview is directly opposite of Ile Saint-Paul, a tiny French island in the Indian Ocean.
