George Stewart U.S. 40 Photograph - Here's ElmerHarding HighwayElmer, NJ 08318 There used to be a a sign at this location that said 'Here's Elmer.' It was an answer to a 1940s song that asked the question, 'Where's Elmer.' This scene is at the west end of the bridge over Elmer Lake, just before the entrance to the park. The brick pillars at the entrance to the park seen in the original remain. Elmer was named after Quintus Cincinnatus Lucius Elmer, a local judge.
