George Stewart U.S. 40 Photograph No. 15 - From Little Savage MountainFinzel RoadFrostburg, MD 21532 For almost 100 years artists and photographers captured the scenic view of what would become Route 40 as it descended from the crest of Little Savage Mountain. Indeed, many referred to the scene as one of Maryland's beauty spots. The scene did not escape George Stewart and he included it in U.S. 40. The scene was forever obliterated by the construction of an interchange for I-68. Stewart's vantage point was in the trees to the left of the photo. This view is slightly to the east and from a nearby overpass.
