Stewart definitely shot this sign on the old alignment of Route 40, just north of I-70. I want to go back and reshoot this scene on the old alignment. The name Auxvasses derives from the French for a river with many sand bars.

The current Hwy 70 alignment is not the original Hwy 40 alignment. The old route 40 across Auxvasse Creek is in the weeds about 1000 feet north of 70 and can be driven on . It is accessed off of the north side of exit 155. I was told the old bridge was removed in 1962. Kenton Kloos
