The original Antlers Hotel was built by William Jackson Palmer in 1883. It was replaced in 1901 with a grand hotel designed by Ernest Phillip Varian and Frederick Junius Sterner. This is shown in the postcard views below. Sadly, that hotel was demolished in 1964 and replaced with a more modern structure (that just doesn't compare to the 1901 structure).
