www.fallingwater.org OK, this is quite a ways from Route 40, but definitely worth visiting. Falling Water is a residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1934. Some consider Falling Water Wright's finest work. It was even the inspiration for Ayn Rand's novel The Fountainhead.
