| Description: |
The journey continues across the Forty Mile Desert and some of the most inhospitable terrain on the entire route. Extreme caution is advised in this section; please carry plenty of extra water as you may have to go as much as 50 miles between watering opportunities. Regarding terrain, this section is relatively flat - a far cry from the climb across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Note: accommodations in Mill City are rather scarce, so advanced reservations are recommended. |
