Lou La Bonte's (original location site)
Weimar, CA 95713This restaurant and gas station opened in 1946 in Weimar. It was famous for its slogan - Get gassed up at La Bonte's - and we mean Chevron! Unfortunately, La Bonte's was demolished in the mid 1950s to make way for the new highway that would eventually become I-80. Following the closure of the Weimar restaurant, it opened a new restaurant in nearby Auburn.

Lou La Bonte's deli sandwiches at both locations were the best in the region. It was a shame when when it went out of business. |
