At 2,650 miles, the Pacific Crest Trail traverses three western states - Washington, Oregon and California. The various alignments of Route 40 cross the PCT twice - once on the original 1925 alignment at Donner Pass (on Old Donner Summit Road) and again at the newer alignment on Donner Pass Road.
