Beckley House (site)Front StreetBrownsville, PA 15417 From Searight's The Old Pike (1894): James C. Beckley kept a tavern in a frame house at the head of old Front street, for a number of years. He was a local politician of much shrewdness, commanding a considerable following, a close friend of the late Hon. John L. Dawson, and served that old-time, able and distinguished statesman in many trying contests. [James] Auld preceded Beckley in the old house at the head of Front Street.
