Madonna of the Trail - ArizonaEast Main StreetSpringerville, AZ 85938 The monument is located on Main Street (U.S. Route 60), across from the Post Office in Springerville, Arizona. This monument was dedicated on September 29, 1928. The inscriptions read: West Face: MADONNA OF THE TRAIL N.S.D.A.R. MEMORIAL TO THE PIONEER MOTHERS OF THE COVERED WAGON DAYS South Face: A TRIBUTE TO THE PIONEERS OF ARIZINA AND THE SOUTHWEST WHO TROD THIS GROUND AND BRAVED THE DANGERS OF THE APACHE AND OTHER WARRIOR TRIBES.
