Harold's Club MuralReno Livestock Center1350 North Wells Avenue Reno, NV 89512-2666 (775) 688-5750 In 1949, Harold Smith erected a massive 80 foot by 40 foot mural outside his North Virginia Street casino. It depicted pioneers crossing the plains and approaching the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In typical casino style, the mural featured a lighted animated waterfall and a flickering campfire. When Harold's was closed, the mural was dismantled. The left two thirds of the mural have been reassembled at the Reno Livestock Center. Unfortunately, third of the mural that was not reassembled contained the waterfall and campfire. Still, it was great that such an icon of over-the-top artwork was saved.
