Virginia Military District Boundary (west)

South Vienna, OH 45369The Virginia Military District was located between this point and the Scioto River (Route 40 crossed this point in Columbus, Ohio). It was established in 1784 as a form of payment for Virginians who fought in the Revolutionary War. In 1794, the land was opened for settlement.
