Arm of the Unknown SoldierNational Museum of Civil War Medicine48 East Patrick Street Frederick, MD 21705 (301) 695-1864 Yes, arm. It was clearly the most popular relic at this small private civil war museum. It's wasn't buried as you might think, rather it was out for public viewing. The gruesome artifact was copper green and was sure to nauseate everyone. This artifact usewd to be on display at the Antietam Battlefield Museum in Shaprsburg. When the museum closed in 2004, the National Park Service acquired the building. The arm found its way to National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Unfortunately, the arm is no longer on display.
