Alfred's Steak House (site)
Formerly/Also Known As Chal's Restaurant

It may be that Alfred's was once known as Chal's, owned and operated by Charles and Al Aboud in the 1950s. Chal's burned down some time in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

Both of these restaurants were my father's (Alfred Abood.) He owned Chal's with his brother in-law. Alfred's Steak was his alone and was farther west on Rt 40. They were two different restaurants. Alfred's Steak house burned down in the early 1960's. Chal's remained operational into the 1990's but had been sold in the 1980's to new owners outside the family. Chal's is no longer there. A church was built on the site. |
