I am sure that the address numbers are off. The two buildings (the bank and the taller one next to it) were the bank and Western Auto. Later, the two building were merged into one business - Western Auto, then Snapp's Hardware.
The bank was owned and managed by the Stephens family - one including Governor Lon Vest Stephens.
The two dogs in the front were given to Mr. Stephens by Jay Gould - the Railroad Magnate. The Stephens family had owned and built the predecessor of the Boonville to Versailles branch of the Missouri Pacific. Jay Gould was the President of the Mo Pac and bought the predecessor.
