This is one of the last of a fading chain of greasy burger joints, it is located about twenty blocks away from the War Memorial on Route 40. A distant cousin of the White Castle chain, White Tower also features miniature super greasy onion-laced burgers on what look like dinner rolls. Back in the 1970's in my pre-vegetarian days (yes, vegetarians do go to diners), I was a frequent client at the White Tower in Randallstown, Maryland as well as the one on North Charles Street in Baltimore. It was the cheapest food around - probably still is. And long lasting - on Wednesday you were still experiencing the burgers you had on Monday, if you know what I mean. ;-)
