Andy D-DayBrookville Historical Society21 Market Street Brookville, OH 45309-0082 (937) 833-0285 www.dcoweb.org/brookville/animal.htm In the 1940's, the Rasor farm of Brookville, Ohio experienced a bit of a shock. A two headed calf was born to Spotty, one of the Rasor cows. Although it did not live very long, it appears that farmer Rasor became obsessed with animal oddities. He had the two-headed calf stuffed (shown at the right) and began searching high and low for other odd creatures. (My guess is that the two-headed calf was the result of too much leaked radiation from the then top secret Miamisburg atomic bomb facility down the road.) Rasor achieved success when he finally found a bull named Andy D-Day. Born on June 6, 1944 on a farm in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Rasor had the unusual specimen brought to Ohio. Andy had four eyes, a double nose and four horns. Andy lived a long life in Ohio and like Wilbur and Babe, his uniqueness probably saved him from a trip to the slaughterhouse. The Rasors advertised Andy far and wide as evidenced by a large number of postcards Rasor had made. Rasor also had billboards erected up and down Route 40. For the admission price of two bits you could see the stuffed two-headed calf as well as feed Saltines to Andy. Andy's head and the stuffed two-headed calf are now both on display at the Brookville Historical Society.
