William Penn DinerDupont HighwayNew Castle, DE 19720 Was in business in the 1940's. The airplane is a reference to its location next to the county airport. I'm not sure whr this unusual diner was located. The photographs below are from the Farm Security Administration collection. They were shot by Arthur Rothstein in April of 1939. The photograph's notes simply read, 'Diner on Route 40, Delaware.'
