Anti-Saloon League MuseumWestervile Public Library126 South State Street Westerville, OH 43081 (614) 882-7277 For almost 150 years Westerville was one of the driest communities in the United States, having outlawed 'the sale, barter or gift of wine, fermented cider, beer, and spirituous liquors.' Prohibition ended for this Columbus suburb in 2006 when voter approved a ballot initiative that permitted the sale of wine and beer at Michael's Pizza (no longer in business). In 1908, the Anti-Saloon League moved here from Oberlin, Ohio. Their headquartes was in this simple house on State Street. Oday the house is part of the city's library. There are almost a quarter of a million documents relating to the temperance movement. For more information:
