Dixie the Dinosaur (site)

North 1st Street and I-80
Dixon, CA 95620

Dixie the Dinosaur was a 50 foot tall and 71 foot long life-sized model of a brachiosaurus. She was built by William Kreysler & Associated in Petaluna, California, and made of a steel structure and fiberglass skin.

In 1996, Dixie was moved to Benecia, California. There, she underwent a sex change and a name change - Benny the Dinosaur. In 2005, Dixie/Benny was once again moved to a provate home in Napa. In 2008, Dixie/Benny was destroyed during a wildfire. All that is left of Dixie/Benny are a few scattered remanants.

Below, is a 1997 video of Dixie/Benny in Benicia.
